Lord Conrad Black, former Board Member at Hudson Institute, appears to be doing well in his new surroundings:
Inside the prison, Lord Black has apparently created a "small fiefdom," regularly lecturing prisoners and guards on American history and politics, and orders around his cellmate as his "gofer and cleaner."
No bio at Hudson, no goodbye from his former gofers and cleaners, just the one spare line: On leave. That base ingratitude must hurt more than the body cavity search.
the main thing is he's inside. let him bluster all he wants, but he can't steal from investors now and won't be able to for at least five years. he did the crime and now he's doing the time. karma be praised.

You can say that again.

I remember the earlier conversations here, wondering whether Connie might find the time inside useful for reflection.
Not a chance. Rather, he finds it bemusing and (almost) beneath him, but he and Lady Black insist on making lemonade.

As a Catholic I was taught to offer my sufferings up for my sins. No sins in Conrad's case, some suffering, a positive overall balance, with sainthood pending.

I might have said "putrefaction" but otherwise he acquits himself well.
Long live the New Gandhi. Paint it, Black.

Yes, a strong leader. He has not learned from his mistakes because he has not made any.
