What are the names of the Three Graces, gracing the cover of Amy Kass's book, Giving Well Doing Good: Readings for Thoughtful Philanthropists?
A) Beauty, Mirth, and Good Cheer?
B) Strategy, Tactics, and Return on Investment?
When you ask what we as a culture, maybe a civilization, have lost and what have we gained in considering philanthropy as a social capital market, three qualities might be Beauty, Mirth, and Good Cheer, though I have to admit, I eat will, drink well, and make good money with my financial planning friends. What could be more fulfilling than that? If only we could get money managers to dominate philanthropy that, surely, would be Utopia. Drinks are on me, my fellow Philanthropy Advisors, at the Wild Pony Saloon. To Beauty!
