More providers than takers of philanthropic funds? Surprisingly that seems to be Kiva's challenge. Give and Take has a summary with links to the NYTimes, Philanthromedia, and Tactical Philanthropy. The founder of Kiva will participate in an online discussion with Chronicle of Philanthropy readers next Tuesday.
Maybe that is because those who could use it don't have the time to mess about with social networking sites. Or maybe the really needy don't even have computers and haven't been taught how to use one.
