H. Peter Karoff on "The Emergence of Open Source Philanthropy." In old time physics, a la Newton, a cause produces an effect. In the world as we have it, every effect has many causes, and the causes and effects interact in complex, self regulating systems that may resist change or go through abrupt phase changes when a tipping point is reached. How to trigger such large systemic effects with a force no stronger than a butterfly wing, or laughter in church that proves contagious? That is not how Peter puts it, exactly, but he is working in that vein, across the disciplines and silos and introducing poetry among the bean counters, a little meter to offset the metrics. When things change, if they ever do, unbridled eloquence will be the most potent force, not money. In fact money may be piled up like sandbags against social change, to no avail. Love will rise.

Did you know that you can't easily get to TWWW blog from the book link at TPI? Probably oversight rather than conspiracy, a blog link for the book page would be a useful resource.

I am not surprised, no insult on their part, just not really part of online culture.
