"The difference is that billionaires deserve it, losers do not," so I hear from my patron, Candidia Cruikshanks. "If losers were rewarded they would remain losers. Having the image of billionaires to motivate them is good for losers. It gives them an image of excellence to brighten their drab lives of meaningless toil. So, in the end we all win."
Holly's article is here, but you already know the stats. The question is how do we change the system without causing embarassment for our funders, boards, bosses, or political representatives? What can we do for billionaires, if we want them to do something for us? That might be the better approach. Could we offer Candy our first born for ritual slaughter? Well, I don't mean to be disrespectful, she is as good a boss and patron as I might wish, all things considered. Things could always be worse, and will get worse, if I get sideways with Top Management. Generally things work out for the best if you don't make any trouble.
