Sign up, sign in, and shop at Foryourcause.com. A percentage goes to a charity of your choice, from among those organizations that have signed up to be included. Beyond that, details on the site are sparse. If someone from For Your Cause reads this, I would suggest:
- Clear statement of whether the site is for profit or nonprofit.
- What is revenue model is. (Who gets how much of what?)
- Who the principals are, and their backrounds.
In the absence of such info, it is hard to evaluate the organization. There is so little info on the public site that a person might wonder, "If this for real? Or could it be a scam or ripoff of some sort?" I have no reason to be skeptical, but no reason to trust, either. More information, please.
Hello,
I'm a representative of ForYourCause.com. Your comments are excellent and I greatly appreciate the review.
In responding to your comments they are as follows.
We are a for profit organization, that has developed relationships with the national merchants we have on ours site. Further, we're developing relationships with regional merchants for people that might be more comfortable buying from a local brick and mortar company. We earn commissions according to our agreement, but we give 70% of our commissions back to the groups/causes/charities that sign up with us. Further, we are currently developing social networking systems for each cause to communicate with their members. This is all free.
The principal is Paul Rodrigues. He has worked in online retail operations for close to ten years and has been very successful. He has wanted for quite some time, to couple his skills and his desire to providing services to help people and the community at large. Of course EGOR makes money, but the bulk of sales go back to the causes that are involved with us.
We also track each purchase and allow each person who makes a purchase how much they have donated.
ForYourCause.com is very excited to push this concept and greatly appreciate your time in evaluating us.
