Gayle on race and fundraising. Why so few fundraisers of color? Don't want the job? Less money to solict in their community? White prejudice in hiring? White prejudice among those solicited? Gayle opens the uncomfortable conversation and is waiting for others to say a word.

Thanks for the link Phil. Knew I could count on your support for encouraging some dialogue.
Unfortunately, I don't get anything near the traffic say you or Lucy gets, so uncertain if anyone will join in the conversation, but at least it feels good to put the issue out there.

Subscribers do no equal traffic, and traffic does not correlate with merit. You write a great blog, Gayle. It takes usually about 3 years to build a community around a blog. That is really what you want, a community of readers to comment, email you, or link from their site. You are very much part of the emerging network of people who read each other and consider one another's opinions, and link and comment back and forth. Thank you for your insights and your courage.
