Imagine a convoy of SUV's marked to look like UN vehicles converging on Washtington from all over the country on April 29 for the March for Darfur. (Organized by Cynthia Gentry, Lars Hasselblad Torres, and friends from Omidyar.net. It just shows you how much trouble idle hands and minds can get into if you let them talk among themselves for awhile. A good reason, I suppose, for television. Keeps citizens in their proper place at home or in the mall as consumers of wealth bondage. When those without much money talk about giving, in my experience, they eventually land on coordinated voluntary action for the public good, often to the horror of their elected representatives, now busy serving other customers. Real democracy is not sold in stores, nor even in the halls of Congress, our representives not withstanding.)
