Christopher Hayes From In These Times,
The specter of a progressive movement funded largely by wealthy individuals, or even members of the comfortable upper middle class, raises some thorny issues....
As Democracy Alliance, Progressive Roundtable, and New Progressive Coalition raise dollars in big chunks for progressive infrastructure, I ask the probably naive question as to whether this is all about getting Democrats elected in November, or whether it is about fixing our broken democracy and a Constitution in tatters. If it is about another set of opportunists, spinmeisters, think tank thinkers, and rogues, beholden to wealthy people, getting their henchmen elected, why would ordinary citizens of goodwill be activated by that? And why call that progressive? Isn't it stasis? (Commentary from Firedoglake here.)
